Childers Place Nursing Home Is the Latest to Benefit from
the Innovative Partnership AMARILLO, TX — August 26, 2009 —
Technical Solutions, a leading business communications provider, announced today
that the company recently fulfilled the technology needs of the Childers Place
Nursing Home, a facility associated with the Mary E. Bivins Foundation.

Solutions installed a number of technology solutions including an Austco Nurse
Call System, which acts as a centralized interface to several distinct systems
within the Childers Place facility. In addition to a nurse call system, it
integrates a Dementia Control System, Pocket Paging System, Call Management
Software and a Patient Wandering System. All systems are hardwired and wireless
with access to the network for patient information, dietary, charts, and
medication. The nurse call system provides 2-way voice communications using
tones, alerts, and visual communications. Call stations are back lit with
silicone buttons to provide visibility at all times and a cleanable surface.
The advanced technology allows the nursing
home to equip the dementia call system with patient profiles to program the
system to basically read the residents habits. All events are reported and
tracked to provide critical information. The call management software and system
facilitates all of the critical information from each individual system into a
central location to give management required information to improve staff and
equipment decisions. The Xmark Systems RoamAlert Patient
Wandering System provides a total solution for wander prevention. The RoamAlert
system features individual user passwords for software access and bypassing
exits, so that only authorized staff can escort a resident through a door. The
RoamAlert system enables facility managers to customize the level of protection
for each resident—letting them pass through some exits, but not others—giving
them the maximum freedom compatible with their safety. Furthermore, Access
Control Systems and CCTV System on all doors, parking lots and in certain areas
inside the nursing home create a safe environment. Internet access and email
capabilities function in all rooms and in central areas for family members,
while workstations and basic telecom services are provided for residents if
